tuesdays with morrie

feng shen bang ended today... my nezha no more..felt a sense of nolstagia. amazed at somtimes how these serials influence and capture us. u can't imagine how crazy i am with vcds loh. will watched until 3am in the morning. even during exams... hee...hai will got to move on to search for new anchor show to keep me home.

bought tuesday with morrie few weeks ago for my sis. cos she said she was rather bored. Gundy(GG) also recommend this book when we were still e-mailing each other. so bought the book. my sis thought it was really good so it's my turn. finished the book within the day on the bus to and back school. think it's really meaningful so share some on the quotes i think that are really nice.

tuesdays with morrie basically story abt this young man who comes back to visit his ailing prof who is dying every week to learn abt lessons of life. sounds like a true story to me and really truly inspiring. was practically tearing throughout the book.. hai..

the tension of opposites
"Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do something, but you are bound to do something else. something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn't. You take certain things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted."

"So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."
well guess sometimes we spent our whole lives chasing materialistic dreams. i guess that's wat morrie considers as meaningless... perhaps we always know that family should be priority but why is that not wat we do in practice?

one particular instant that really touched me the most in the book was... some1 asked morrie if one day he could not speak (which is going to be soon), what would it be like if he was with his deaf fren...his reply was, "we will hold hands. and there will be a lot of love passign between us. we've had 35 years of frenship. You dun need speech or hearing to feel that."

"once you learn how to die, you learn how to live."

seriously u guys must go read the book.. borrowing the next book of Mitch Albom from cheong chye..review it for u next time.

met up with the SIF YEP ppl with Yong Hui... think he kinda have expectations of me staying in 20th comm...hai...dun wanna disappoint him but thought of doing something finally for myself and spend more time with fam and frens in my last year of uni. maybe going for attachment too. well we'll see... nothing's confirmed yet though i still think i dun qualify for pressie... no hard skills..well like i said..we'll see...

After tat met up with sophy to paste Race II posters. hee...saw my zhuzhu, keith, yiying, yee-ky and vinvin. haven seen them for a while.. hrmm since last week. seems a tad long already esp for my zhuzhu..(sorry dear will find time for ya after exams k?).. and seeing zhuzhu training (swimming and jogging for stong).. i'm like totally ashamed of myself.. oops...then realised our posters not chopped by NUSSU.. we are like shit!!..nvm then another day loh bo bian...
