the five people you meet in heaven...
finally found this comic which made me fall in love with sherman's lagoon. wanted to show sophy but couldn't find it in my pile of notes. so this is for u guys. simply love fat shark sherman....
nua this whole sunday. haha.. well jus spent it the way i wanted any rainy sunday to be... sleep and read a book with my fav soundtrack, my best fren's wedding playing and after tat phatom of the opera... then watch tv...
okok i'm not supposed to do this at time of year with exams and stuff... i'm sorry.. jus wanted to chill u know. give myself a break..oopps..okok... been giving myself lotsa breaks.. but well there's only one thing u can do on a rainy sunday afternoon...zzz...
well managed to finish the five people you meet in heaven by mitch albom yes by tuesdays with morrie's author.. think five more impersonal cos tuesdays he writing as a first person. this time he's writing abt his uncle eddie... going to heaven and meeting these five people and learning lessons abt his life. cang says he like five better. ya i guess i agree five is better in a sense it's more fiction, the flow is smoother and the reality of life doesn't hit you that in-the-face.
some quotes...
"you say you should have died instead of me. But during my time on earth, people died instead of me, too. It happens every day. When lightning strikes a minute after you are gone, or an airplane crashes that you might have been on. When your colleague falls ill and you do not. We think such things are random. But there is a balance to it all. One withers, another grows. Birth and death are part of a whole."
"Strangers are just family you have yet to come to know."
"Sacrifice is a part of life. It's supposed to be. It's not something to regret. It's something to aspire to. Little sacrifices. Big sacrifices. A mother works so her son can go to school. A daughter moves home to take care of her sick father."
well i guess it didn't touch me as much as tuesdays did but still a great book. very real, very humanistic.
okok anyway enjoyed my sunday. time to get my butt up and start working.. monday start of a brand new week and also torture... but must persevere... cannot let cap drop any further... cannot let ah bao and john down.. hahaha...ok guys take care... and JIA YOU!! holidays are coming. i keep telling myself tat...
