back from china
yeah back from china yesterday morning. 4.50am to be exact. landed in singapore. hai.. owe my mama big for picking me up at this crazy hour. swear never to take a midnight flight again man. no. 1 inconvenience parents. no. 2 u'll never sleep well. although u think u may "gain" one day from it, but trust me u'll be feeling like shit in the morning. we walked ard like zombies the first day we reached shanghai. prob tat's why i hated shanghai so much and dreaded returning to shanghai after touring the 4 other cities. hahaha.. but well we met one or two nice shanghai-neses b4 we went back so i guess tat pretty much improve my impression of china's most prosperous city by a little.
anyway my fav is still suzhou.., with its beautiful arched bridges, canals, gardens etc. cute boys included hee.. our housekeeping boy was really cute and some bell boys too. heee...
coming in as a close second is nanjing. historically rich as it served as the capital for the first three emperors of Ming, Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and the first Republic of China. although it was quite a sad city i feel becos of the nanjing massacre, and also many important ppl were buried there e.g. Sun Yatsen, Zhu Yuan Zhang (the first ming emperor Hong wu). but it's still bustling and one of the more busy cities cos it's the capital of the Jiangsu province. never would imagine such a prosperous city went through so much of historical events. wished i had more time there..
the rest of the cities were Wu Xi and Hangzhou. wrote diary for everyday but stopped at day 9 cos i was stuck writing abt how i felt after visiting the Nanjing Masscre Museum. mixed feelings. i dunnoe how to describe. i can't say i totally understand why. but still felt sadness, grief etc. but hai.. i dunnoe how to comprehend the event. anyway will work tat out.. maybe will take forever to type everything out plus japan's too.
well setting off for ophir again tmr.. seriously tired from all the travelling wonder how sophy can do it straight after she comes back from nepal then go for missionary trip. been travelling for 1 1/2 mths already. think mus spend more time with mama. was a good daughter today cos pei-ed her for lunch and dinner. hee.. cannot miss sunday dinners with granny again otherwise she dun let me go climb mountains again. hai.. they've been rather skeptical after i came back with all the sandflies bites from titiwangsa. think hard to convince them if i wanna go trekking actively for another year. hai.. well we shall see.
Ophir here i come again... for the 4th time. hahaha saw the new odyssey yesterday. hahaha think i'm considered the cover girl cos every single pic on the cover got my pic. still rem last year we were all fighting to be on the cover page. emily, shannon, yanni, sophy and me. hahaha.. now i have no more rivals.. hahaha.. mus thank shu hong for it. and no. i din bribe him hoh...
