ophir...

my 4th time to ophir... this time my trip full of devils and angels man.. the girls are angels cos most of them are garang girl guides and no not the singing type in stong. haha. but the guys, 4 of them, clarence and his frens, dennis, kai zhao and james. hai.. nothing can describe my disgust. think i really failed as an expedition leader this time to them cos i feel i taught them nothing. like wat adrian say, "they have no regard for anything other than themselves." luckily i have adrian, cherling, the little girls (freshies, cherling's frens) to keep my sanity. feel like a mama for 4 days. got to constantly nagged at them until i'm a bit tired of myself. have to bitch everyday in order to tahan another. cherling and my constant expression is to roll our eyes.. loved the little girls who went with me. cindy potter, hoarse meiyen, cute cute ken jia and pooh yimin. they are going to NUS next sem except ken jia who's going nyp. they are first time trekkers but very good, no complaints, garang, initiative etc. everything the guys aren't. well tat was my highlight of the trip. the 3 NUS freshies going for our oac camp, hopefully we can drag in to run for exco. hee.. first baby step man. yeah.

this time the cost went up relatively higher becos we had to bring a complusory guide. well, after the new regulations, the place is much cleaner, compared to the mountain in the past where it's said to go up the summit, jus follow the rubbish. the square pool campsite also moved further upstream. the campsite is not too bad lah. very flat, water very near. and the route from CP 4 to CP 5 is better. instead of going up and down steeply. it was flat land mainly, following the river. enjoyed the trek, this time very much. 1st time to botak hill w/o backpack. felt very good. was a sunny day at the summit and some of them got sun burnt. discovered a new water source at 30 mins from summit. it's jus a small trickling stream of water but very nice. it's supposed to be the source of the river. very nice!!! perhaps i'm pretty much influenced by the girls' enthusiasm and hyperactive-ness. was rather contented jus to hang out with them. they are pretty interesting and nice ppl to hang out with. jus glad tat they signed up for the odac camp. looking forward to seeing them again.

sunday
went on reccee with yee-ky and chee kong. was nice to catch up with them after not seeing them for nearly a month. chee kong was telling us abt his nepal trip. sounds really interesting and i can't wait to see his pics. think we were really nua, cos we din manage to finish all the places but manage to explore new places. was an very interesting day. then had dinner at granny's. think she's a tad angry with me for not calling her after coming back from china to bao ping an then go ophir already. oopps.. okok.. better listen to her next time man.

monday
went to sch for wash-up see my girls again. =) planned to watch shrek but in the end left the 3 of us (cherling, cindy and me) and shrek was sold out so watched the day after tmr instead. not too bad, a bit exaggerating but pretty interesting to tell us to stay vigiliant abt our environment and also brought attention to the issue of global warming. thought the statue of liberty was rather symbolic inside and also when's there's a crisis, there's always hope.

had dinner with cherling and carol. carol leavign for lake toba tmr so she was handing everything to cherling. sat and sun dry run already. think everyone quite stressed. esp carol and meiyu lah. think she's working very hard, lost her voice somemore. hai.. saw shu hong's e-mail. thought it was rather unfair for him to say wat he said. hai.. will write a reply back. hopefully tmr man. carol briefed me on my role in the camp and i can't wait for the camp to start cos it's like a monopoly game kinda concept. very nice. so exciting. hahaha.. i sound like a freshie all over again. =)

meeting yee pin at WA with sheryl tmr. hai.. now tat carol put me to work. think a bit sianz diao for my other projects, bash and race. tmr race meeting too. yeah we meeting w/o sophy but think the nepal ppl will have loads to share hopefully pics too. =)

okok.. time for me to zzz.. long day tmr. wan an da jia.
