Hong Kong is the best...
ooppsss... hai.. seems like i'm one of the few stuck in urban areas these days. hope the stong ppl having fun. haha.. and hope my dear cher ling brought watever treasures tat i gave her. seems so long ago that i'm hanging with the odac ppl.. the BBQ. hai.. the titi ppl called me yesterday when i was on the tour bus for the day tour. they turned back. by forest's orders. i think the weather mus be even worse than the time we went. kinda ke xi but i dun think there's a choice. they prob have lotsa stories to tell. haha.. mus catch up with them when reach home.
anyway stilll happy in HK. went to Ocean Park today. nothing much lah. still missing universal studios and disneyland/sea in Osaka and Tokyo. think when the disneyland open here, it is going to give them a run for their money man. service still lacking, ppl generally quite rude. and call me biased, but the cheena ppl are like oh man at their worst. spitting once again made me relive the shanghai nightmare. but well i think the scenary there is still very nice lah. can see kowloon and hong kong island. heee... took the MTR (our MRT) there to change bus (the bus is also very comfy) pretty nice although we onli travelled for one MTR station.
took the Star Ferry back. i dun usually get motion sickness but dunnoe why my head is still swimming like it is still on the ferry now. scenary very nice. haha.. fyi the Star Ferry is like a short ferry service to serve both coasts HK island and Kowloon. we took the central to tsimshatsui one. haha.. damn cheap lah abt 40 cents one way ride. enjoying the sea breeze, mountains and skyscrapers. very nice feeling.
am i a vagabond? amazingly dun miss home at all. maybe mama and chun with me lah. but homesickness is usually not with me when i go out. ok i miss home when i was in titi. tat's all. haha.. tough journey ma. china dun miss home, japan dun miss home. quite sad to know onli 2 more nights in HK. din meet with zhuzhu. i know she's here already but she never reply my sms. maybe she never on HP.
gave up on the cpf thingy. shall call 5th aunt to ask her to go CPF board tmr. sorry mama.
yesterday took a day tour. not too bad. went to a few places. like a summary of HK. the tour guide quite cute too. more sincere than the taiwan one. the wishing tree in the drama serials left the deepest impression. but it doesn't look as authentic as the scene u see in the shows. quite commercialised already. lotsa hawkers there and stuff. the day tour ended up having us dropped off at another section of Tsimshatsui. a bit of trouble getting back to our hotel cos the signboards all look the same after a while. haha.. plus distracted lah. walk a while. find the way. hop into the shops. buy stuff. etc. hahaha.. took like 2 hours to get back when the journey is like onli 3 streets away. haha.. then we went to ladies' market, nu ren jie. haha.. had dinner at this very authentic HK xiao chi dian. they have both western and chinese menu. i had spaghetti with beef steak, fried egg. the portion was really big. but all the dishes that the 5 of us ordered were pretty decent. the only thing i hate was tat the ppl keep huffing and puffing indoors. oh man. i was choking on the smoke loh. aarrgghh... this is smth i think they should do it the singaporean way. put the brain cancer, lung cancer pic on the cigarette boxes, and ban smoking indoors. another bad habit of the cheena chinese too. but the HK women also smoke quite heavily even the most well dressed ones. haha... then chanced upon a few outdoor gear shops. yeah.. but the prices are almost the same lah. sailormoon shoes around same price. after dinner ladies' market. haha.. bargaining... buying... yeah.. found smth tat i've been looking for in Taiwan. lala.. maybe taiwan no chance to go to like pasar malam style selling our kinda stuff places.
wanna go to the Peak today. checked out how to go already but think not enough time. maybe the day we go back loh. looking forward to taking the Peak tram. going Macau tmr.. and Lan Kui Fong later. haha.. for a few drinks. happening sia hoh. haha.. anyway this street is supposed whole street of pubs. HK is really a very special city. feel very at home here. i would say more prosperous than Singapore in a sense. people everywhere. we may be proud tat we are bilingual but ppl here are trilingual (canto, english and chinese). i think HK is every reminder that we as Singaporeans shouldn't get too complacent of ourselves. most ppl can understand Chinese. haha but sometimes i dunnoe why i'll jus ask for directions in english. haha.. although we are by birth and by right chinese. heee.. oh man.. head throbbing.. think will go upstairs to lie down a while b4 meeting mama and co. for dinner and lan kui fong.. yeah..
titi ppl rest well. save ur stories for me k? hopefully by the time i come back u wun be sick of telling them...
skee the great
