hahaha.. lala..

reporting live from pacific coffee at royal pacific hotel at Tsimshatsui, Hong Kong

haha.. lala.. yeah free internet at the cafe u know the nice red sofa cafe at my hotel downstairs. hai.. stupid cpf thingy can't work again.. ahh.. dun tell me i have to call cpf long distance. *cross my fingers. will try again on monday.

anyway hee.. Taiwan was boring seriously. hai.. but food was fantastic. haven felt hungry for a long long time. every night go night market eat this and tat. everything was rather nice other than the smelly tofu which i will quicken my steps to get away from the smell. lotsa exotic food. not any weird animals or watever but never thought tat the combinations of such food can be so interesting. Xi Men Ding is nice. haha.. i like the bustling kinda feeling. haha.. jus by eating all the xiao chi can be so damn full. the scenary is not bad. haha.. chanced upon this national park near hua lian. very pretty. it has walks/hikes. next time if i ever come back i will go there. yes had enough of package tours man. hai.. bring us to this shop and tat shop. sianz. time limit on some places. can't really see the whole street sometimes. shi lin night market in taipei was damn bustling and the hua xi street night market is very nice.

top 10 food i like in taiwan (not in any preference order)

1. tie dan (metal egg)
haha literally but it's very nice like braised egg (ru dan) but they package it like a snack. a bit hard but still very nice. i'm sure mei yu will like.

2. xiang chang (sausage)
a tad oily but still very nice

3. sweet potato in sweetened stuff.. haha.. oops i dunoe how to describe but it's jus damn nice. first they fry the sweet potato then they put some sweet stuff on it. then put in cold water for it to harden.

4. fried bee hoon
ok nothing extraordinary but it's jus tasted damn good tat day at this road side stall. not much liao but it's jus nice and simple. of cos with the fantastic chilli there tat day.

5. bubble tea
nothing fantanstic but appreciate tat every corner we turn there's one stall selling it to quench our thrist.

6. chicken chop at shi lin night market
queued for a while for it. haha.. cheap like 2 bucks and it's a damn big piece lah. they dun cut it like the one at PS. a tad salty but not too bad.

7. guan cai ban
this thick white bread they go and fry then cut the top and put in liao like tuna, beef, prawn etc then add a little cai and salad sauce. combi is fantastic.

8. hong dou fen guo
it's like red bean ice cream but add a little jelly on a ice cream stick. i think it would taste even better if we put nata de coco.

9. ah zong mian xian
the mian xian not like the usual mian xian. then they put chicken intestine. stand and eat outside the shop at xi men ding. quite special. piping hot to eat in a cold night. haha..

10. mua chi
mua chi with lotsa diff fillings and flavour. not too bad but i still prefer my peanut flavour.

haha.. will report more if i recall more. sadly my itchy hands went to press format my digicam memory card the second last day in taiwan. all pictures gone. including some fantanstic photos of the ri yue tian (sun moon lake) and the national park i was talking about. ahhhh.... shit! hai.. all the yummy stuff we ate too and i especially miss my super act cute photo with blue strawberry ear muffs. ahh... and chun and my adventures with diff ice cream and all the silly faces we made. hai... XIN TONG!!

ok anyway tat's boring taiwan. hai.. went to zong zheng ji nian tang. a memorial place to commemorate chiang kai shek. ok lah i wanted to see such stuff. onli got to see it second last day. i'm a sucker for history stuff man. anyway sad to know tat his body not buried yet cos he wanted to be buried back in his hometown in china but u know china dun let them do it lah. so his body lying in this temple somewhere in taiwan still now. reminds me of the zhong shan lin in nanjing. then we went to see this place with lotsa antiques in a place called gu gong. wah lau psuedo lah of cos. insult the real thing in beijing man. hai.. all the antiques brought over by chiang kai shek from china from the qing dynasty lah. seriously everybody wow-ing and ohh-ing. i was thinking like they are like robbers lah. all these stuff should be in beijing loh. wat the shit. they damn happy to exhibit them like their own. i bet they sold the best pieces to raise money for their military campaigns lah.

dun like the guide very much cos when he says stuff, i always feel he has an ulterior motive like wan us to buy this and buy tat. luckily i think the company of 7 of us went on too many tours to be "conned" by him lah. his tongue very flower flower. if u get wat i mean.

taiwan a place where chinese immigrate to. i can't say they really have a culture of their own. sorry to say tat. the native ppl (shan di ppl) kinda like "sino-fied" already. inter marry with han chinese. they speak and look almost like any other taiwanese. but there's one thing i really like abt taiwan is tat i guess it's really democracy. they had a legislative council election the day we left so everywhere like full of banners to vote for this and this. haha.. then the nominated ppl will go around night markets to distribute their flags, caps etc. haha.. damn big thing loh. they will also drive ard in vans with loud hailers. haha.. one of a kind and smth we will never see in singapore. haha.. we were fortunate enough to shake hands with one candidate. haha.. ok lah quite fun. we were sitting there then he jus came and "pai tuo pai tuo", trying to pull more votes haha... quite fun. mama even got one of the flags. oh ya they even put some firecrackers and fireworks on the streets. damn big affair lah. haha..

oh ya tv one of the best things in taiwan. haha.. we had the fortune to watch one of 5566's variety programme. chun and i were rolling on our tummies with laughter at the end of it. they are really good. other variety shows too. amazingly we din catch any of wu zong xian's shows. mostly xiao S's, xiao zhu's etc... and of cos HBO was our best fren. sleep was our best buddy too. like wat chun says, sleep our worries away. haha... get on the coach zzz... go down eat... get on zzz... this kinda of life how not to get fat. pls.. meiyu/terry pls dun make me run with the crazy JC ODAC kids. i really can't move le.

sadly nothing much to buy, expensive and everything almost can get in singapore. so ppl dun expect much.

anyway arrived in HK today. very very different from taipei. firstly cantonese. hai... i'm so damn bad lah.. stared at the receptionist when she was telling me smth in canto. *stunned. hahaha.. hope chun and i can survive the day we are going ocean park ourselves without mama and zhu xi(chairman). haha.. zhu xi one of mama's frens got to know her when we went to yunan in sec sch. haha.. we have become fast frens after tat. they always go on tours together every dec. and she shares the exact same name as me. No kidding! YEO SIEW KEE. haha.. chinese a bit diff though she's xiu zi. haha.. fate man. then this year mama dragged chun and i along loh. haha.. she's still as loud and funny and always take care of us. she's a good lady. like her personally a lot. biz woman with biz in philippines. haha.. career woman. good role model to look up to.

anyway yes HK. hate the airport lah. haha.. so damn big. dunnoe how many travellators we took to get to the baggage claim area. been like 3 times to transit there. din know the way out is even longer. i bet many visitors lose their way every day man. HK ppl here and there, everywhere. very very bustling. looks like a very decent city to me. haha.. forget those gu huo zai movies u watch. it's not tat bad lah. they love to dramatize this place. still very bright and busy city. until now we can still get around speaking chinese and english lah. haha.. cos tsimshazhui is a tourist place lah. haha.. mountains everywhere. hope can go on some hikes these few days. the coast is damn nice too. onli read up my lonely planet on the flight from taipei here. haha.. last min homework. seems like the onli vigorous sport here is shopping. haha.. going to The Peak, Causeway Bay and the wishing tree carol was talking abt tmr. oh ya jus ate wan tan mee for dinner. damn nice lah. a tad ex food here but the soup and the noodle very nice. the you cai (HK kai lan) damn nice too. luckily it isn't all abt food here. haha.. yes i know i'm a foodie but i miss being hungry. we haven stopped once in taiwan. haha.. but HK think lotsa good food too but going to eat moderately. a bit sick. can u imagine i'm sick of eating? imagine the amt of junk i ate for the past week.

haha... hao le almost 10pm already think better go up. have a hot shower. watch tv.. and zzz le. love the weather cool but not cold. unless the wind damn big. sunny but not hot. love the blue skies here too... lala... take care ppl. may be meeting zhu zhu here damn exciting sia. haha.. hope we can go to ocean park together. lala.. love all of u.
