a night of booze and bak ku teh

went to the british museum today alone cos carol wanted to see modern art. well quite a money hungry museum where u still need to pay 2 pounds for the map. atrocious. paid 3 pounds to watch a mummy show. 3D. not too bad lah. well i went for the egyptian collection which was like 4 rooms which makes me wonder if there's anything left cos the french already looted the place and put the stuff in the lourve then the british took the mummies and put it in their museums and unwrap them for amusement in the past. hai.. all these museums carries the fruit of colonisation. quite sad. there were a collection of oriental as they themed it too. china treasures, statues from cambodia. african art. help!! the whole place reeks of colonisation. on the other hand to think abt it, perhaps these artefacts also goes to educate the british public abt other civilisations and cultures without even leaving their land. din really look at every single piece but mus say their collection of mummies are really extensive. afternoon went to hampstead and eat cang's sis's fav crepes. quite nice. prefer it to the french ones. i had chocolate banana which was like NICE. then went to hampstead heath which is this very very nice and green parks. really rolling green hills, small yellow flowers, ducks and swans by the ponds. very pretty. a nice place to chill. then came back and cook dinner. drizzled. caught in a heavy drizzle but cang and i managed to run back to shelter. haha.. cooked fried rice, sardines, vege, bak ku teh. haha.. the first 2 batches of fried rice is fine but the third a tad soggy. then had drinks with zhao tan, cang's sis's fren. a PSA scholar who broke his bond and work here in investment banking. he's quite inspiring. well other than being DHS and TJC, he's a nice person to talk to like a person with lotsa experience to share. we had a good time at the pub nearby. zhao tan is some sort like the elder of the house, pays the bills etc. but well he returns home like 8-9-10pm so well his job isn't really tat easy. well i guess finance jobs are like tat. elaine whose room we are staying in we heard is worse cos she's in auditing and comes home like 12-1-2am. really feel for them. maybe next time when i'm sick of working and have all the money in the world, come here and do masters. london is really a nice city i mean other than paying three times of what we will pay at home for everything. this place is comfy. everyone speaks english and we look at the correct direction for traffic. tmr we going to the portibuo or smth (dunnoe how to spell) market and b4 tat hyde park. then zhong wen, another house mate supposedly a great cook will cook dinner for us. kinda looking forward to it. but well which means our stay in london is ending. hai.. alright at this pt of time i wil feel sad but kinda looking forward to home and my bed which hasn't been properly slept in for a month and hope yang yang took good care of it. alright let's see how dramatic farewell is tmr night.=)

skee the great
