Movies...

an Ang Lee film opening in Feb 06 starring Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal.
was jus flipping through 8 days movie junkie guide for movies to come next few months. then chanced abt wat Jake Gyllenhaal said abt the film. very thought-provoking. well it's basically a gay film lah. but i always love Ang Lee's films. very subtle yet so intense. ok those gay films are always intense but Ang Lee always makes this particular kind of love so beautiful. i love Wedding Banquet. especially u see him breaking down lotsa stereotypes, traditions vs modern.
yes yes i'm a movie junkie and the movie module in the last sem jus made me a bigger junkie, can't wait for mr potter to amaze me on 18th nov. been on a movie famine for like a month plus le. terry isn't big on movies. =( haha... but we are watching sky high tonight. yeah yeah yeah!!! oops i'm jus the black sheep who will lead him astray but i jus promised terence terry's cap wun fall with my supervision. oh no... contradiction.
anyway some classic chinese films which are well worth ur $9.50. my personal opinion of cos. (not in order of merit)
1. Rouge (烟脂扣)
2. Raise the Red Lantern (大红灯笼高高挂)
3. Farewell my Concubine (霸王别姬)
4. Eat, Drink. Man, Woman. (饮食男女)
5. Hero (英雄)
6. the Wong Fei Hong series by Tsui Hark (1st 3 with Jet Li one)
7. the world of Suzie Wong also quite amusing. damn old already but i love to see suzie acting cute with the ang mo.
8. The Wedding Banquet
more if i rem. haha... Tsui Hark is not jus an action director i think. through action i feel he portrays lotsa emotions, also the traditions vs modern kinda subtle thing in the Wong Fei Hong series. esp sensitive sentiments of the Hong Kongers during the Handover period of 97.
ok dun need to listen to me on this movie crap which i indulged myself with the whole last sem. haha... to get urself in the x'mas romantic mood, pls watch love actually. like ash says, it's the sweetest thing. i have the dvd but currently with sophy. i'll be nice to lend it to anybody who asked for it.
finally my 5 day marathon is over. phew. intense sia. but well seriously prefer to do closing alone but of cos with an additional manager can do my own stuff for raymond. and ya getting used to diff ppl's working styles and ya i dun like huini's one. no communication one. fara is good, very comfy to work with. guess she has her way of working with ppl too. as a floor manager, hardly worked with her cos she was a FM too. ya hope will have more chances to work with her and learn from her. ok huini has her merits too. she's a good teacher and patient. jus dun get her in the so sianz.. mood. she'll indulge herself but when i ask she'll teach/answer which is good. yes skee be open-minded and humble, no more papaya. watch ur words when talking to ppl and be ready to LEARN!!! think i'll try to help xiao ping a bit if i can. guess she dun wan to be seen as pregnant and using it as an excuse but ya like wat raymond says she can be more effective. ya can see she's overworked and raymond says huini is underworked. haha... jus hope i can live up to expectations and notlet raymond bitch abt me next time. JIA YOU skee. 2 weeks down.next week mus jia you at opening. wake up early u piggy and so u'll have more time to prepare b4 store opens.
it's the terry weekend. think we are sticky but well haha.. we are allowed to be rit? lala... =)
